To minimize uneven plating of iCell® Cardiomyocytes, we recommend:

  • Placing culture plates with 96 or more wells on a level surface at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the cells to settle before placing in the incubator. This step helps minimize the edge effects from heat-generated currents in the incubator.
  • Mixing the cell suspension to prevent settling between each addition to the plate. This measure helps prevent decreases in cell number or signal across a plate.
  • Plating cells in an appropriate volume of medium in each well or dish to minimize meniscus effects.
