iCell® GABANeurons can be cultured with or without serum (the provided medium, iCell Neural Base Medium 1, does not contain serum), but the cells do require an ECM. We recommend using poly-L-ornithine (PLO), poly-D-lysine (PDL), or polyethyleneimine (PEI) plates as appropriate, coated with fresh laminin. Cells do not adhere easily to gelatin, fibronectin, collagen or Matrigel matrices.
